NEWS: Don’t see M. Night Shyamalan’s “What the hell is ‘The Happening’?”
Biff Bam Pow Comics | July 9, 2008 | 10:00 pmLadies and gentlemen - you all know that this isn’t a movie review website. This is a website all about comic books. But I had to break the mould a little to encourage you all to avoid M. Night Shyamalan’s most recent ‘epic’ - The Happening.
I have, quite literally, just lost an hour and half of my life watching what can only be considered as utter drivel. Marky Mark gives one of the worst performances of his life (which is a stunning sentence in itself), and the other immediately forgettable actors and actresses around him, are no doubt all regretting the decision to be part of this complete waste of space.
Watch at your own peril.

I agree and then some. This was even worse
Jack Daniel JenkinsI agree and then some. This was even worse than is described above. While seeing it I wasn’t sure if it was meant to be a joke or not. I was waiting for some M. Night-twist in the plot to explain the bad acting. And I don’t mean “bad” as in bad fish smell, I mean “bad” as in nuclear holocaust. The acting was terrible on a level usually reserved “films” you’d see mocked by Joel, Crow and Tom Servo on MST3K, but on an A-movie budget. I literally leaned up and looked around for other people who were making the same “wtf” face I was. This film also featured John Leguizamo and Zooey Deschanel (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) which are both decent actors in their own right but in this heap… my god, it was as if Shyamalan said, “Okay, everyone around you is dying and your motivation is, ‘Did I leave the iron on at home?’… okay, GO!”
Trust me, I could go on for a while but having to write this is bringing back memories of seeing the movie and it’s making me queasy. Stay away from this one kids, even if you have a free rental at the Redbox and you’ve seen all the other good movies.. go read a book or at the very least let a car run over your foot. It will surely be more entertaining than “The Happening.”

I'm still going to have to see. You see,
Nicholas P. MyersI’m still going to have to see. You see, I actually liked Lady in the Water when everyone else hated it. So, I might just find myself among the 2% of the population that likes the film. One never knows until they try.
